Newborn Photography Sidcup, Kent by Emma Louise Photography
I’ve met previously with Zachary’s Mum, Dad and big sister for a family shoot in the Lavender field, they were one of my very first clients and I think you’ll agree that my photography has progressed a bit since then!
It’s always such a compliment to be invited back for further sessions with previous clients, especially when they are for the first precious newborn photography portraits of new family additions. You don’t get those moments back and it’s a responsibility I take very seriously.
Newborn Posing
Zachary was around a week old in these photos, I don’t stringently stick to the 7-10 day rule like some photographers insist upon for newborn photography but it does make my job a little easier due to baby still being in the sleepy newborn haze and they are still very poseable from being scrunched up in Mum’s tummy.
As always safety is paramount at newborn photography sessions. Mum was spotter for me and each pose is held for a matter of minutes – just long enough for me to get the shot required before baby is wrapped back up in the acclimatised room again. Big sister did a wonderful job of giving her baby brother a gentle kiss for what made my favourite sibling portrait to date.
I know not all Mum’s feel up to a photoshoot so soon after baby’s arrival but I always keep the option open – I guarantee your children will want to see you in these photos with them in years to come, you will always look amazing in their eyes! I’m so glad that Zachary’s Mummy allowed me to take these precious images of her cuddling her tiny son.
