Professional Newborn Baby Photography Welling Kent
I enjoy every single one of my newborn baby photography sessions. Occasionally, they don’t always go to plan – sometimes we have an unsettled baby and we have to wait for their sleep cycle to begin again. I’m always happy to wait, and I’m even secretly quite pleased when baby is awake and settled – because parents always love images of their adorably inquisitive baby trying to figure out this new world around them.
I’m frequently told that I’ve the patience of a saint, but when I have a session like this one where baby is settled, sleepy and super content the whole way through the photo shoot I consider it patience well rewarded! I always love it when Mum and Dad are happy to have their first family portrait during the session. I make sure parents are fully prepped on what to wear and how best to achieve images like the one in this post by popping them a copy of my What to Wear to your Photoshoot guide, as well as an exclusive Newborn Baby Magazine full of helpful hints and tips to ensure your session runs smoothly.
When to book your newborn baby photography:
For the best chance to achieve those sleepy, curled up newborn images the optimum time to book is between day 7 and 10 post birth. I am very happy to photograph older babies too but these sessions tend to take longer as baby is more alert, and the pose-ability factor can be lost.
Newborn baby photography sessions are very relaxed, with a ‘go with the flow’ approach. I prefer to do these shoots in the comfort of your own home with you baby in familiar surroundings and creature comforts available. I provision a minimum of two to four hours for these sessions and I will work around the needs of you, your baby and your routine. Please don’t worry if baby is uncooperative, I am happy to wait until they’re ready, and if they’re not then I can reschedule.
