Whilst you read this I will be watching the Olympic Torch Relay travel through Riverhead near Sevenoaks in Kent, and celebrating my littlest dude’s second birthday.
With this in mind, I thought I’d have a self indulgent share of my own family portraits taken at Leeds Castle last month. We’d gone to see the Knights of Royal England’s Jousting Tournament – I’ll have more images from this on the blog next week, though I’ve included a sneak peek in here just for you. Do come back as the rest are well worth a revisit!
Leeds Castle is a great day out even when the jousting isn’t on, with the historic castle, glorious gardens, falconry shows, maze and programme of events which awaits every visitor. Each ticket, or Key to the Castle, is valid for a year from purchase so you can visit the castle and grounds as many times as you like. We rather enjoyed the falconry show during our visit too and got very close up to a Little Owl {Athene noctua} and an Eurasian Eagle-Owl {Bubo bubo} post display!
The Knights will be jousting at Hever Castle in Kent on 21st & 22nd July and will be alternating their performances at Leeds Castle, (Kent), Hever Castle, (Kent), Blenheim Palace, (Oxfordshire) and Hedingham Castle (Essex) throughout the summer holidays.
