I was delighted to be invited to take some photos of beautiful eight day old Jessica. She was an absolute delight to work with and let me gently move her into position for some of my favourite newborn images to date. Thank you Mum and Dad for inviting me to document these special moments for you.
You might recognise one of the images from the Belle Bébés blog – it was featured on their ‘Doting Daddies’ Father’s Day feature back in June!
When should I book a newborn shoot?
The optimum time for a newborn shoot is between day 7 and 10. I can photograph older babies but these sessions tend to take longer as baby is more alert, and the pose-ability factor is lost. It’s really important that you contact me before baby is due so that I can ensure I can schedule your session into my diary, I can’t guarantee my availability for short notice bookings.
What happens during our shoot?
Newborn and baby portrait sessions are very relaxed, with a ‘go with the flow’ approach. I prefer to do these shoots in the comfort of your own home with you baby in familiar surroundings and creature comforts available. I provision a minimum of two to four hours for these sessions and I will work around the needs of you, your baby and your routine. Please don’t worry if baby is uncooperative, I am happy to wait until they’re ready, and if they’re not then I can reschedule.
