It’s always a treat for me to look back over my previous sessions to see how far I’ve come as a photographer. One of the very first newborn sessions I did was of little Evan who gave me a proper newborn photographer baptism by peeing all over my props – the boy had range you wouldn’t believe! I have his Mum and Dad to thank among others, for being the very first to allow me in to those precious newborn days in order to capture a snapshot of their lives as new parents. It was wonderful to be able to compare two similar shots of the brothers that I’d taken in similar poses, which you can see over on my Facebook page.
Newborn Portraits – Take Two
It was with much delight that two years later, having been re-Christened many a time by many a baby, I got to photograph Evan’s handsome little baby brother, Max. They visited me at my house where I’d set up a mini studio as we’d planned to take a trip to the nearby bluebell woods. By the time I got around to meeting Max he was a month old with the most amazing blue eyes, unlike his brother whose were already dark brown by the same age. Max didn’t really want to sleep for his newborn portraits but he quite enjoyed poking his tongue out at me instead!
Bluebell Portraits
Once we’d finished with the indoor shots we popped up the road to a nearby wood which always has the most spectacular carpet of bluebells each spring. I’ll shortly be releasing information about this year’s Bluebell Mini Sessions, do sign up for my newsletter to be the first to know! Evan was amazed by the sight and also enjoyed being thrown up in the air by Daddy too.
Since this session the family have moved to the other end of the country, but I already have requests for photoshoots in Wales and Ireland so I’m sure I could manage a visit to Scotland too!
