Child Photography Orpington Kent – by Emma Louise Photography
This in home session involved two brothers, the youngest of whom was on the cusp of his first birthday. Both were fabulous fun, we started off in the garden whilst I let the boys warm to me.
It can be quite unnerving for kids to have a stranger arrive to take photos of them, so I always make a point of interacting with all of my clients and this includes the small ones.
Whilst I got ready we sang and danced and had a little chat about what they’d been up to at nursery. In among the chaos I started taking a few portraits of the boys. We got the ball pool out, threw big piles of leaves around and blew some bubbles too. Before I knew it I was being shown Frankie’s entire toy car collection. I was pleased to have finally had found my expert knowledge of Cars and Cars 2 put to the test; and having watched both on a loop for the past few years I could name all of the characters as they were pulled out of the drawer! As a photographer I’ve found it really helps to know your audience…
Boys and their Toys
I’m really proud of the car portraits of the boys. My OCD went into overdrive a little – the cars HAD to be straight and evenly spread, and I used a teddy in lieu of a boy when I was getting set up. When I shared the image below of Frankie on Twitter it was picked up and featured in my local paper!
I’d love to get similar images like this of your kids surrounded by their favourite toys. If you are interested in being included in this project or you would like to book your own family and child photography session then please do get in touch.
