I’m delighted to share one of my favourite sessions from 2013 with you, and as I watch the rain pitter-patter down my window for the umpteenth time this week, it is a post which reminds me of just how much I miss (and love) summer. Why my favourite? Aside from the perfect setting with the perfect weather, the perfectly formed clouds in the perfectly blue sky, I had a perfect family to share a session with!
Lifestyle Photography
Jo, her lovely husband and little girl travelled from London to the Kent countryside to meet me at Leeds Castle. I really enjoy lifestyle photography sessions where everything is very relaxed and informal; the smiles are genuine and enjoyment shines through. I am a staunchly opposed to placing clients in forced poses, the results always look unnatural and uncomfortable. I do discretely encourage the placement of hands, shoulders and the like, but my aim is to produce images that are convincingly representative of you and your family.
Leeds Castle
Leeds Castle is a beautiful setting, there are two ways to approach the castle on foot – directly across the events ground or via a winding pathway which takes you past The Duckery and The Wood Garden, onto the Pavilion before you catch sight of the stunning castle. We chose the latter, and it is here that the image of the family in the archway was captured. We continued, stopping on the Pavilion Lawn in order for Isabelle to enjoy some bubble fun. We finished in front of the castle – and I am sure you can see why Leeds Castle has earned the reputation of “The Loveliest Castle in the World”.
If you would like to invite me to document your own family lifestyle portrait session then do get in touch, I’d love to hear from you!
