Do you believe in Fairies? – Peter Pan Styled Shoot

“If you believe,” he shouted to them, “clap your hands; don’t let Tink die.”
Many clapped.
Some didn’t.
A few beasts hissed.
The clapping stopped suddenly; as if countless mothers had rushed to their nurseries to see what on earth was happening; but already Tink was saved. First her voice grew strong, then she popped out of bed, then she was flashing through the room more merry and impudent than ever. She never thought of thanking those who believed, but she would have like to get at the ones who had hissed.

I was lucky enough to secure a place at a recent event run by Styled Shoots. The location was Avins Farm in Ardingly, Sussex, the theme Peter Pan, incorporating four scenes; The Lost Boys, The Wendy House, The Bridal Scene and the Grand Finale. The organisers certainly delivered over and above this promise of Neverland magic, and it was a great chance to meet with other photographers, share ideas and network *waves* at all fellow lovers of cake!

After we’d finished working – loosely translated this meant hovering on ladders above a newly-wed Wendy and Peter, enticing Tinker Bell to cover us in pixie dust, chasing the Lost Boys and Captain Hook around the farm and beating the rain with bubble guns – we were invited back into the barn for some utterly delicious tea and cakes followed by a glass of pink champagne. If this wasn’t enough, the hosts had also arranged for us to benefit from some fabulous business advice from Lisa Devlin of Devlin Photos, and Melissa Love of Melissa Love Designs.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, from which I obtained shrewd business advice as well as some wonderful images. Too many images to choose from in fact so I will be splitting the results into three separate posts – lucky you!
