Well, what a year 2014 turned out to be.
It’s taken me a while to go through and accumulate the ‘best bits’ of the year that was 2014, I simply can’t include ALL of them otherwise this post would go on for ages.
So, I’ve chosen my absolute favourites and will do my very best to blog more this year…really I will!
Thank YOU
Once again thank you. As I mentioned in last year’s Review of 2013 none of this would be possible without my wonderful clients, and I’d like to thank each and every one of you for allowing me to document your blossoming bumps, those never to be repeated newborn days, or invited me to preserve a very small snapshot of happy family life. Congratulations again to those couples who invited me to cover their engagements, weddings and receptions. I’ve had lots of fun with commercial photography too this year, venturing down the path of corporate headshots and some delicious food photography.
Pregnancy & Newborn Baby Photography Kent
Newborn baby photography as well as pregnancy photography commissions frequently featured in my calendar; my Bump to Baby photography package is already my most popular enquiry for 2015!
I know I’ve said it before but it really is super important to research your photographer – safely posing newborns should be their top priority. It is useful to book your maternity photography as early as you can and your newborn photography BEFORE baby is here. I only take on a finite number of bookings per month and I would love to see many more beautiful portraits like these in my 2015 review…
Child & Family Photography Kent
I’ve had such fun photographing babies, toddlers and children over the year from birthday Cake Smash sessions to fun filled family portraits. I’ve played peek-a-boo countless times, sung a ridiculous number of nursery rhymes, used three dozen or so bubble wands, crawled through woodland and fields on my hands and knees after small people in search of the best angle for a portrait and enjoyed every minute of it!
The highlight of my year came when the incredible image of Frankie surrounded by his Cars collection was spotted on Twitter then featured in my local paper, the Edenbridge Courier!
As I do a lot of location photography I’ve had the pleasure of meeting clients at beautiful locations such as Knole Park in Sevenoaks, the lavender fields in Surrey, the stunning Ouse Valley Viaduct in Sussex as well as my absolute favourite location; the bluebells woods in Spring.

Wedding Photography Kent
I’ve photographed some amazing weddings in 2014, mainly as a second shooter which means I can’t feature them here…boo. Worry not, I’ve some wedding photography of my own that I am thrilled to share.
There was Julie and Hema’s gorgeous springtime wedding at Pembroke Lodge in Richmond, London where the sun shone all day and we were surrounded by acres of daffodils in the gardens which encircle the lodge.
Then I captured Becky and Ian’s beautifully intimate wedding at Dartford Registry Office followed a week later by their Big Party in Windsor.
Finally Lara and Gary’s Tunbridge Wells Registry Office nuptials and a glorious meal on The Pantiles which was followed by an autumnal garden party in Edenbridge, Kent.
I’m looking forward to meeting with all my happy couples already scheduled in the diary this year, but I am still taking bookings for a limited number of wedding photography commissions in 2015.
Event & Corporate Photography Kent
Kids party photography featured heavily last year – from a superhero themed birthday in Oxted to a fun filled Cars themed 1st birthday party held at Gillingham Football Club’s Priestfield Stadium.
I also covered an amazing 25th Wedding Anniversary at Roux at the Landau and photographed the professional chefs from The Waterleaf restaurant located at the brand new Reynolds Retreat in Borough Green.
Then there were the amazing Hen Parties organised by the brilliant Vintage Hen House in London and Brighton and a cowboy themed 40th party at Bexley Cricket Club. I ran photobooth parties in Barnehurst and Yalding and covered a full dress rehearsal of an amazing dance show at The Orchard Theatre in Dartford.
I hadn’t realised quite how much event photography I had been a part of in 2014. From London to Brighton, across from my home county of Kent into Surrey and Sussex I think I photographed the majority of the South East at some point or another in 2014. I hope to share a few moments with you in 2015.
